Welcome To Pierce County Refuse

Curbside Collection - Basic Information

Cans and carts should be put out: By 6:00 a.m. within 5 feet of the traveled portion of the road on your collection day (actual collection times may vary) with lids opening toward the street. Drive in or carry out service can be added for a fee.

Missed pick-ups should be reported immediately:
Call 253-537-8687 or email us.

Bad weather or emergencies sometimes prevent the safe collection of containers. As soon as conditions improve service will resume. Excess materials due to missed collection can be put in a temporary container, such as a 32 gallon bag or can and the extra will be taken on your next scheduled pick up.

Holidays include Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. If your service day falls on or after one of these holidays, collection will be one day later. For example, if your scheduled collection day is Thursday, "Thanksgiving," your containers will be collected on Friday, and Friday customers will have their collection on Saturday. When the holiday falls on a weekend, no one is affected. Our drivers work normal hours on all other holidays.

Rate information
Rates are determined by the size and/or number of the cans, frequency of pick up; and whether or not you recycle. Yard debris service is available for an additional fee. Recycling more items may result in a smaller garbage can, which costs you less. It pays to recycle!
